Après avoir visité la maison avec Markus l'architecte, nous nous sommes revus la semaine dernière pour discuter ensemble de ce que nous pourrions faire. Naturellement, il nous a proposé des idées d'architecte! Des modifications auxquelles nous avions vaguement pensé et vite renoncé car techniquement compliquées, onéreuses et bien sûr non compatibles avec notre budget. Mais voilà, ces transformations présentées par Markus avaient beaucoup plus d'allure que ce que nous avions imaginé et nous nous sommes dit que nous pourrions quand même voir plus grand. Genre la folie des grandeurs! Markus devrait d'ici peu nous envoyer une estimation des travaux. Vous pouvez imaginer notre impatience... Alors en attendant, nous réfléchissons où nous pourrions économiser. Renoncer à une nouvelle salle de bains? Choisir une cuisine bon marché? Vendre tous mes vélos et boire moins de bières? Argh! C'est vraiment trop injuste!
Nachdem wir das Haus mit Markus, dem Architekten besichtigt hatten, trafen wir uns die Woche darauf noch einmal, um über die Renovation zu sprechen. Natürlich hatte Markus, wie es sich für einen Architekten gehört, ein paar tolle Ideen in petto! Wir liebäugelten auch schon zuvor mit der einen oder anderen Transformation, kamen dann aber davon ab, weil sie uns entweder zu kompliziert oder zu teuer erschienen (und vermutlich unser Budget sprengen würden). Als wir dann aber die Ideen auf Papier konkretisiert sahen, sagten wir uns, wir sollten doch 'mal den Kostenvoranschlag abwarten... In der Zwischenzeit sind wir am Überlegen, wo und wie wir Geld einsparen könnten: Sollen wir das alte Badezimmer beibehalten oder uns für eine billige Küche entscheiden? Oder vielleicht könnte ich meine Fahrräder verkaufen und weniger Bier trinken... Ach! Das ist hart!

And the next thing was his explanations and drawings looked better than our vague ideas and we thought we could nevertheless get these transformations done. Now, we are looking forward to the estimate that Markus will send us. In the meantime, we are thinking where and how we could save some money. We could keep the old bathroom or choose a cheaper kitchen. Maybe I could sale my bikes and drink less beers... Ooch! That's tough!
